Melanie began practicing yoga in 2009 while training for the River Run. Blown away by the effects of breathwork as well as increases in strength and mobility she began practicing regularly. In 2018 Melanie completed her YTT 200 hr training through Yoga Den. Yoga helped her through marathon training, surgery recovery, various injuries, and more. Recognizing its ability to heal and strengthen the mind, body, and soul Melanie is motivated to share yoga with her community. She has taught classes to all ages, with a variety of organizations, and loves when kids join parents on the mat. She teaches yoga fusion classes that incorporate a mixture of traditional yoga poses and other forms of exercise like strength or resistance training while focusing on breathing with movement. This blending of techniques focuses on combining mind and body exercises with the benefits of strength, aerobics, balance and flexibility. Melanie loves to get creative with her classes by incorporating specific themes and groovy playlists that allow students to intentionally connect mind and body.
