Yoga Fusion Class

 

Introduction to the class

Melanie Black will be teaching a 60 minute yoga fusion class. Children 12 and under are welcome to join for free. Let’s’ have some fun while we move with intention. Bring a mat and a water bottle. Intended for all fitness levels, Yoga Fusion is a class that consists of a mixture of traditional yoga poses and other forms of exercise like strength or resistance training while focusing on breathing with movement. This blending of techniques focuses on combining mind and body exercises with the benefits of strength, aerobics, balance and flexibility. Receive lots of specific instruction for traditional yoga poses, sequences, and proper alignment. Learn to link movement with breath. Whether holding a posture or flowing through sequences, a mix of lying down, seated, standing and balance poses make this class perfect for beginners and those preferring ongoing instruction and variety. Also appropriate for intermediate levels with optional challenges offered. Includes mindful breath and movement sequences.

Melanie began practicing yoga  in 2009 while training for the River Run. Blown away by the effects of breathwork as well as increases in strength and mobility she began practicing regularly. In 2018 Melanie completed her YTT 200 hr training through Yoga Den. Yoga helped her through marathon training, surgery recovery, various injuries, and more. Recognizing its ability to heal
