Gratitude Day 2: Ring It In

Gratitude question #2: What’s an item you own that gives you a sense of comfort?

Well, the first thing that popped into my head as I stared at my hand holding this card was my rings. I wear the same four rings almost every day. My wedding ring gives me comfort because it reminds me of my love for my husband and vice versa. The ring with the three jewels is my daughter ring. It was given to me by my parents on my 16th birthday and reminds me of my connection to them. The wave ring I wear on my left index finger reminds me to breathe. When I first started attending Yoga Den, I took Alyson’s class and she often said, “Follow the wave of your breath.” This just clicked with me in a special way. Lastly, the most recent ring I have started wearing is my thumb ring, which is a meditation or fidget ring. It’s silver with two loose rings surrounding. The two loose rings spin. So far this ring works as an anchor piece for me when I am nervous or in deep thought.

All my rings give me a sense of comfort. They remind me of people I love and to take care of myself.

Affirmation: I choose to let go of what doesn’t serve me.
